Stone County Humane Society

The Stone County Humane Society has been a non-profit organization in Mountain View, Arkansas since October 21, 1999. Their vision is to build a community where people value animals and treat them with respect and kindness. Their mission includes finding new homes for abandoned animals, strongly promoting spaying and neutering, providing the public with education and information for responsible pet ownership, and the ongoing construction and operation of a shelter.

They depend on volunteers to keep their organization growing, and they are always in need of volunteers that are willing to help with the spay/neuter clinics, Second Chance Resale Store, pet adoptions and numerous other clinics.

They raise money for their cause by recycling aluminum cans in their community, recycling cell phone, as operating a Second Chance Resale Shop as well as many other seasonal fundraising projects.

They recently purchased items from The Trail of Painted Ponies that were raffled off to help their cause in an event called "Ponies for the Paws" that took place in October 2008.
